This artwork was commissioned as a Christmas gift from a wife to her husband. They love their family holidays and spending time with their children at the beach. One of their family-isms is that it is ‘the little things that matter’, and so she wanted a very simple figurative landscape that captured this sentiment and brought a little of that peaceful, happy feeling to their home.

This painting was based off a photo from one of their holidays. All unimportant details in the scene were removed to allow the focus to solely be on the children and the feeling.

From the outset, the client requested that copy be made of the artwork to gift to her husband’s parents. Isn’t it wonderful how modern technology allows us to bring joy to two families with one artwork?
